Mambas are one of the fastest snakes at about 12 miles per hour, maybe a bit more. I would have a hard time stopping myself from using a shotgun on them if they lived near me. Years ago, I had to hit a cottonmouth with an oar as it got its head up in my little 14 foot aluminum boat. That was on Lake...

When an animal is destroying property, it moves across a line from just a part of nature to a pest. I understand not killing without reason, but I also understand stopping a destructive pest when you might not be able to be around enough to permanently scare it off. I know Tycer, and he was concerne...

I kind of fall in the camp of wanting things to last a long time. If I decide to get a really powerful levergun cartridge, then the BHA .50 S&W would be a really good idea. That platform seems to be built to handle more than the .50 S&W can put out. The toggle link action is slick and smooth. Why st...

Freight train versus small car at speeds near the limit of tire grip. The freight train always wins the punch through and keep going fight. The small car wins at acceleration and getting there first.

Wolff springs and a fully supported chamber in .357 Sig make a Glock model 22 that started life as a .40 S&W a whole different animal. The aftermarket barrel has land and groove rifling, and lead bullets work great out of it. It wears tritium sights. No fears about ruptured cases and Glock-Kabooms.
