Not much different. I had both the . 45 and the . 480 at the range. The . 45 brass ruptured. The . 480 caliber Super Redhawk never had a mark on it. I felt stupid.

If you had to limit your number of guns, a levergun in . 357 Mag and one in . 35 Remington would probably cover a lot of possible situations.
Not saying that there are perfect calibers or that I would be against buying a firearm just because I want it.

Never having been in Grizzly bear territory, I would probably take something with more power. That is just me. As far as wild pigs of 200 pounds or less, it is just fine so far.

Got one. Used it on pigs a couple of times. It has more power than the 30-30, but it is not a gigantic step up. For one rifle to do all from coyotes to black bear and everything in between, it is quite capable.

Jim, the distance you can get out of that load and the accuracy along with the distance is impressive. Seems to me that lead bullets out of a . 45 Colt caliber have been overlooked by a bunch of people.

.30-30 or . 35 Remington are both great calibers for a wide variety of tasks without being hard on the gun. If I need more power, I can easily go to . 308 or 30-06, or . 45-70 without any effort. Then there are the calibers such as . 375 H&H for African game. I just do not need a Marlin or Wincheste...

I am still giving the vaccine and boosters to those who request them. Having had a series of mini-strokes from the vaccine, I will not be taking it again. I only took it because I couldn't get a job without it. There are still people who are convinced that it is necessary.
