Great hunt! Nice eating buck. Thanks for the processing info. Awesome mule, like the tires. Do they work good compared to traditional atv tires?

Had time to do a little cleaning on the 39-A , got most of the freckling off .Some staining and few light pits remain but over all cleaned up nice. Bore is mint and it's a shooter. Spent two hours trying to get the stock bolt out ,twisted my new Grace driver using a wrench on it. Finally got mad do...

That's a good one, congratulations. Yes, King's Gunworks was known for the reflector front sights, along with "lopsided" asymmetric target hammers and triggers. I've never managed to get hold of an actual .38-44 despite one being on my wish list, so have to make do with an old 6" Hig...

Thanks for sharing. Looks to be a museum piece. What a beauty. Thanks for the info. It’s fun to try different loads. I am going to load some Hornady 158 gr xtps and see how they shoot. The front sight has King on it. King must have been a custom gunsmith who specialized in target upgrades.

Pictures of my Outdoorsman
I thought I would post some pictures of my Outdoorsman. I like S&W revolvers and when I spied this one in my Gunshop I had to buy it, and they didn't know what it was nor did I. I like researching and this was a fun revolver to study. It has some custom upgrades, and I also noticed a small weldi...

I bought one at an estate auction this summer. 32/20. First I have seen but heard about them for years. Got it for a good price all set up with a Williams receiver sight and a small white bead up front. Shooting a cast bullet load with 5gr of Unique I was told. Very accurate and fun to shoot. I have...

Seems to be quality to me. When I bought last year, it was a good deal. I bought .357 and .44 Mag. I have only loaded .357 so far multiple times no issues. I also liked it was a Wisconsin product = quality.

Beautiful! What year was it made. I went to a small gun show last year and a fellow had a Parker shotgun broke down in a nice original case. The metal work was something to get lost in. Actually I couldn't stop looking at it, being a metals guy. Price $2K. I think it was probably a deal. I thought I...

Like Sixgun said. Maybe that's why I choose the 300 Savage for most of my Deer hunting? A little more than the 30-30 and a little tamer than the 06, and still a 30 caliber.

Thank JFE!
I will be digging into it soon. Like you said about the lifter. I did by a factory one again (B71) and the same thing happens, Rats I said.
I look forward to the investigation and hopefully the 86 lifter will remedy it like you said.
Thanks again!

Minnesota seems to be pro education, nice place to live and earn a decent living. Wisconsin used to be, but no more. Our governor hates educated educators. Just my view, don't mean get all political, so spare the lead.
Wish her well and best of luck. We need good people in education.

A fun project for you, would be to fit it to your liking with a rasp and refinish, custom for you. There was a long gone gun writer/hunter named Francis Sell who lived I think in the Pacific Northwest. He hunted with his custom fit to him Marlins and wrote about it from time to time in the Gun Digest.
