Went this morning and had a great time. Took the Springfield GI model and Colt 1991A1 - just as a little tribute to the old/new soldiers Also carried my 1894c and Win94 Trapper in 45Colt. I gotta' say, those two are scary accurate. At 100yds with the iron sights both were cutting 1-1.5" groups....

Re: Why do people just love the cardboard BOXES guns come in?
I remember picking up a few of the Winchester 94 boxes from a gun store prior to the plant closing. Even got a couple directly from Winchester.
Three of them sold on ebay/gunbroker for $110+ dollars by themselves. A couple only sold for $75. Silly or not, I was happy they bid them that high.

Depends on the what the wife has planned for the Holdays.
If up in Alabama (as usual) then I'll probably be hunting there. When we get back to Fl there should still be a week or two left for the FL season, so more than likely I'll be heading up Ocala way a couple of weekends.

I'd start the charge at 19gr of 2400 under a 240gr JSP/JHP and work up from there.
I found that load to shoot clover leafs at 50yds out of 5 or 6 of my 44mags including Ruger SBH and Marlin 1894.
