Re: Anyone into the model 1876?
Over the years I have purchased a few 1876 Winchesters that had been cut-down , stripped or otherwise abused in some way , only to spend more bringing it back to original configuration than one not damaged and in the same condition would have cost me . It would have been cheaper and easier / smarter...

Nath for making a light for caliber small game load in my 45 Cal rifle s , I just run a .490 round ball through the .458 sizing die and load it over a light change of Unique powder . In the 30wcf you could do the same with a 36 Cal RBI’ . Works for me . Pic of .490 balls sized through the 458 die .

I do it once in a great while. I do not normally reload in any kind of hurry. I have plenty of time. My Dad used that method. He taught me to reload in the 1950's and he was using it back then on a big old Pacific single stage press. He started reloading in the 1930's. Still have my Dad's old blue ...

Then I used the factory irons to guesstimate where to set the receiver sight. Three more rounds. Same conditions. The first shot took out my precise aiming point which may explain the vertical pattern. Since most of my deer hunting involves shots at less than 50 yards, I would say that my initial i...

JES must be doing something right , all I have ever heard from others that had him re-bore a barrel is very good work and accurate shooter . I would have no problem at all with a Three Groove re-bore if it was accurate . Once bored with however many grooves , original is out the window .

It has arrived. Seems almost too light, reminds me of my .30-30 short gun. Nice trigger. The sights meet my eye when I throw it up so this is destined to be an iron sighted rifle. I think I have a reciever sight here for it somewhere. Great looking rifle and in a very useful cartridge . Good on Ya .
