Dusty, you must be buying up all the old 76 Winchesters out there. That is another fine looking rifle for your collection though. Good shooting. 1876 Winchester circa 1877
This old Winchester Model 1876 28" rb. 45/60wcf came along a few wks ago, and it is the oldest of my 1876 Winchesters (circa 1877). The outside appearance shows a life of use but not abuse. The mechanics and bore are in better than normal condition. The old rifle was found in Oregon . I wish I ...

Re: .38 WCF questions
I decided to check the black powder levels in some .38-40 cases I have. Note the difference in the densities between Goex and Swiss. I don't have any .38-40 Starline brass but R-P .44-40 brass holds about 2 more grs of powder than .44-40 Starline brass. Image I would expect that 36 grs by weight of...

Hey Smokenrust, for what its worth. I have an original 1876 Winchester 40/60wcf that had a horrible bore in it when I purchased the rifle. The barrel had been cut-down to 22" . I re-lined the barrel and chose a ROT of 1 turn in 22" it slugs out @ just under 0.406. I realize you are conside...

I started shooting Dad's 94 when I was 9 years old. I remember it smacking me pretty good.
