Re: Colt Walker question ...

The .45 colt was designed to shoot horses. War isn't pretty. The best way to unseat a cavalry troop is to shoot his horse. It's a very big target. In westerns you'll see bandits chasing a stage coach. In reality if one wanted to stop a coach you'd simply kill one of the horses. The remaining horses ...

So I was blissfully unaware that I had lost service. Apparently it happened while most of the west coast was sleeping. In fact, had AT&T not sent me a text yesterday I would never have known. However, I wouldn’t have really seen any ill effects. As I was home, and my phone is set to roll over to...

One thing my wife always insists upon is that I be in the room when she sees either a doctor or dentist. Even if they are female. The only time we had a problem was when she suffered a minor concussion. The doctor wanted her alone to ask if she had been struck. I would dearly have loved to have seen...

First the patient needs to file criminal charges for the purse and gun antics. Then she needs to contact a lawyer for possible civil suit. Third contact the state licensing board and file a complaint. How far the various agencies and attorneys can take this remains to be seen. But it will be documen...

Strategically it was a mistake. While the Australians already had skin in the game, a direct attack on their homeland created a resolve equal to that of the US. In effect they insured their eventual defeat. But then had the Japanese thought it through from the start, even with the destruction if the...

Been carrying a Mossberg .410 as “ The Perfect Jeep Gun” since my AR-7 seemed a bit small for some years now. Short of bears I think it would handle the functions of a “survival” long gun very well. Firearms and ammunition is like many other pursuits. Folks are always reinventing the wheel and praising its attributes. But, it’s still round and doesn’t roll any better.

Newer ammunition and firearms don’t kill one bit better because dead is dead.
