Re: OT -- Thirteen Rules For Raising 21st Century Children

We have many children in our community that are being raised by some of these 'rules'. As Ysabel Kid said the rules in my house apply to all children. I have seen how quickly so-called bad children can adapt to our rules. I will never exclude a child from my home because their parents are selfish an...

Re: Slightly OT - Getting my wife to shoot

My wife uses earplugs with muffs over top of them. We make a habit of not attending crowded public ranges. It is very difficult to properly practice when the guy 3 feet away from you is blasting through a half case of ammo with his short barrel AR-15.

The remington 7 is a gem. My experience is limited to only one rifle. One of the older models in 243 with an 18" barrel. It wore a Redfield widefield 2-7X scope. The rifle was accurate enough with all ammo I tried. I have a tendency to like shorter length of pull on rifles and this one was perf...

Way too fast. My round ball rifle is something over 1 in 60. If you dont want to do the sabot route you could try some maxi-ball type bullets.
I've also goteen good accuracy from Power Belt bullets.

10 miles away is a Wildlife Managemant Area range. It hasa 100yd+ 200yd rifle, 25 yard pistol, and trap and skeet space. It costs $27 per year. As long as you dont show up at 10 am on a Saturday it is usually not too crowded.
