Vance, Kind of depends on what you want the rifle for. Personally, I've always preferred the tang sight but the receiver sight, which I have several rifles sighted for, is really the best open sight for hunting, plinking, or target shooting. You just have to change the apertures, depending on light ...

The specs on the 25-35, concerning the base......are different from the 30-30. If you have a tight chambered 25-35, 30-30 will go in and stop about a 1/4" from fully chambering. This is not from me reading....it's from experience. The 25-35 and the 219 Zipper have the same base diameter. I have...

I agree with Vance. In some areas of the country, you can pick and choose. If it was 5 or even 6 hundred and you really want it and there's not much in your area, go ahead and get it. I agree the 35 Rem. is more versatile than the 38-55.......and .....much easier to load for as the tolerences are very uniform.....just about anything you stick in it will shoot accurately......including cheap lead pistol bullets. I would go the extra mile and get a Ballard rifled Marlin or a Reming...
