You can call Cody and do a serial search to find out for sure, if the serial is under about 350,000. There are no records past that number. If you aren't a Cody member and you want a serial search, PM me the serial number and I'll call it in for you. To answer your question, it normally detracts if ...

Someone else here had a similar problem a few years ago with 348 factory stuff. I want to say Pharmseller, Boreman, or big bear...I can't remember. I'd say Marlins. I think the wood is a bit nicer on the low-end Marlins vs low-end Winnys, and the fit and finish on the late production Winnys leaves a lot to be desired. Look at the gap between the wood and the receiver/tang area on a late New Haven rifle and you'll see what I mean. My dad bought ...

I just picked up a 1907 vintage winchester model 1894 rifle that is cut for a bolt peep. What's most interesting about this is the timing. The 98A bolt peep didn't come around until the 30s, IIRC. I'll have to check my sight book. I would guess you have a Model 64 bolt in your rifle. Not that it ma...

I think 5744 and 4759 are a little too fast for cream of wheat filler. As I mentioned in my earlier post, I prefer to use slower powders like IMR 3031 with cream of wheat filler.
