Now that I'm 50 I can't rember squat, but "one of the greats" said that" the 30/06 is never a bad choice".I believe that to be true,especially when cruising the ammo stores ...what do you think they stock the most of?

Thanks for the reply's guys, I do believe the gun had an alloy frame, but that looks just like my marlin mod. 60 frame,and I think that is alloy also,i'ts been run'n good for 30 plus years.I'll have to talk myself out of it,sure would be cool to have a 22 mag, to go with my single six.

I recently ran into this rifle in a local store,the price was in the mid 200's. The gun was in great shape except for the butt stock,looked like one side of it saw some solvent it didn't like,but there are no scratches to wood or metal,in fact it could be unfired. question is are these good shooters...

I find it easier to draw a firearm from a crossdraw style holster than a strong side holster,find it easier reaching in a jacket, not having to brush it aside first. Am I the only one who feels this way?

Nath, I like #4's better than #6's ,4's penetrate better for me ,6's stop just under the skin to many times.

My guess is your woods will limit you to short shots anyhow,150 yrds or less,that load you suggest should do wonderful, go and have fun!

U.S politicians are already kicking around the idea of 10 day waiting periods on BULLDOZERS,and limiting BULLDOZER purchases to one a month,ignition locks, D.C.
