Loaddata.com has a good bit of 280 Remington/Ackley data on it. The have a listing there for Sierra bullets using some Ramshot powders. It does require you buy a subscription though.

How did you determine the charge of 4198? Are you using the breech plug that came with the Remington? I have wondered how my Encore muzzle loader barrel would do with smokeless. Of course T/C says don't do it! I shoot the Hornaday 45 caliber 250gr plastic tip bullets with their red sabot.

I took a look at loaddata.com and there was no loads there either. The lightest bullet I saw listed was a 145 gr bullet and 20 grs was max.

I happened to be close to my safe when reading this so I grabbed my 686. Indeed Joe is correct. There is a small raised piece on the frame that stops the cylinder.

My Dad is in Danville and he got 8 to 10 inches. That pretty much shuts everything down in that area. Some areas just a bit north got 25".

My son lives in Stallings. They have not had any issues outside of a couple of 30 second power outages. A little creek beside them got pretty full but never left it's banks.

Mainehunter, I use cutepdf writer to convert file to PDF. You print to it like it is a printer but it then asks you for a file name and location and it makes a PDF file. Best of all it is free.

Joe, You mentioned you replaced the air filter because the old was gunked up and oily. Assuming it is a foam filter it does need to have some oil in it. That is what traps the fine dirt. It also cuts the air flow a bit which richens the mixture a tad. Be sure you oil the new one with some motor oil....

Creeker used to sell me 41 bullets that were cast from the Magma. Can't really tell you about diameter variance as they were sized when they got to me. The weight was very consistent though
