Re: Education in butt stock length.
When I was 'smithing we used a rule of thumb for stock length. It works well for most shooters. Lay the buttstock against the cup of your elbow and check to see that the trigger comes to the middle joint of your trigger finger. On average size men this will work out to 12 1/2" to 14". Most...

The "micarta" grips refered to in the Ruger information is made from a pressed paper and was used as circuit board panels for mounting insturments in electrical power plants. I saw it used in a plant that was built in the early 1900's, so it's not a new material. I retrived some of it from...

Hi Gordylew, All SAA's marked Frontier Sixshooter are 44/40 caliber. The Bisley model is not as valuable as the Army model. You appear to have an original 1st Generation gun. If you want to keep it as valuable as you can, you will need to use original parts to make the repairs. All good gunshows wil...

Both pictures are fakes. Boeing is not working on a 797 delta wing airliner. The Boeing picture is at least 4 years old. The "fighter" is a studio mockup for the film "Stealth" that was in production several years ago.

In doing a little searching I found a statement that may sum up your problem. Yes, rain, or hail, could deflect a bullet. In reality the flight time in most cases is too short to make any practical difference. But over a long distance, say 500 to 1000 yards, it could. I hope one of our forum members with long range military experence will chime in in this interesting question.

The standard for dovetail sights in the U.S. has been 3/8" since at least the 1860's. The clones from Europe, South America and the rest of the world are metric. I don't have the metric dimension at hand. I have no experience with the Japanese Brownings, so I'm not sure about them.

All factory ammo is loaded this way for obvious reasns, think liability. The 44/40 can be hand loaded to compete with the 44 spec, 45 Colt, etc. It just happened ...
