Re: Cost for rechambering a 94?

Your 'smith can rent that reamer for about $35.00. I don't think the barrel has to be taken off the action, depending on the reamer shaft length, to do the job. So, a couple of hours plus the reamer cost. $150.00?

It would chamber. But what's the point, the shot/cup will be spun by the rifling and the pattern would be useless? Same thing happens with shot in any rifled barrel. Bad guy might be scared by the noise, but unless he was very close the damage would be minor, and it might really p--- him off to boot...

I'm only familier with the original '86's. To remove the mag. tube from them you need to remove the two forearm cap screws, as these sometimes snag the tube. The mag. plug screw needs to be removed as it sometimes goes clear through the tube an into an indent in the barrel. The magazine retaining ri...

You've heard the term "salt pork". Preserving bacon with salt, saltpeter, vinegar, and spices was a common method. It could be smoked, and jerkied also. Any of the methods kept it edible for weeks to months. Look up preserving bacon on the net. There are many methods.

Uberti may be using the fact that cartridge brass adheres to the chamber walls at the instant of ignition, and then shrinks back that allows extraction. The explosive force at firing on the bolt face is much less than the chamber pressure due to this and is not subject to the same pressure as the ch...
