Its definitely a 'project' gun. Probably a '92 action and pieced together 'mongrel'! I've seen quite a few over the years and actually bought one about 40 years ago that was quite well done. Numrich Arms had for sale new Model 65 .218 Bee barrels for many years; leftover NOS acquired from Winchester.

Your 64 has the standard 'deluxe' sling attachments, that utilize only their swivel/loops. They are available, but expensive. I see them asking $125. to $175. for a set!

If you have indicated the correct serial number in your post, then your rifle is not a real model 65, it is an early model 1892 that has been rebarreled. All the 'real' model 65s will have a serial number over 1 million. There are quite few of these rebarreled 1892s floating around.

Pillar is right! Anhydrous does not contain water, and it is important to make sure it is this and not hydrous lanolin. Use of hydrous lanolin will wreak havoc on any steel.

Sixgun is absolutely right! That vintage '94 carbine had the model 55 type 'shotgun' buttstock and were walnut. Gumwood went out right around WW1. Rest of gun looks good, however.

Nice 71 for sure! Theres nothing special about the peep insert. Any Lyman will fit, but if you're going to shoot it, get a Williams Twi-Light aperture. Their available with different diameter sight holes.
