Re: Marlin 1895 G pricing ?
Thabks for the tips --- i thought my friend's gun valuation book sounded a bit off, but i wasnt there in person, i was getting info over the phone -- maybe its the book, or maybe he needs to get some glasses-- those things do have fine print sometimes. I'm going to get it, unless i show up with cash...

Re: My Next Lever Should be a... (fill in the blank)
I have a Henry .22, and my bro has a Single Six --- we have a blast lining up at the range !! (or in the backyard -- mama's backyard -- wherever -- they both will shoot .22 Short ammo, but the Henry is almost pellet gun quiet with them) So i guess you could say i'm voting .22 as well --- get a Henry...

So, how much is it worth? He already said he won't sell it, but would like to know. The old boy that gave the rifle to my friends Dad, also gave him a model 94 winchester in 25-35. My friend used that rifle to kill his first deer. Dont know what its worth really, but early model 94's going for clos...

Re: Marlin 1895 G pricing ?
Yes, those prices seem about right. I know a guy who bought a Marlin .450 on Kodiak Island AK and paid over $800 for it new and shot it one time and sold it. He couldn`t handle the recoil. :D thks --- i am not surprised at the gentleman's asking price, because i thought it sounded somewhat close un...

Marlin 1895 G pricing ?
I came across an opportunity to purchase an 1895 G blued finish (Guide Gun 45-70) from an individual ----- his asking price is $520 with 6 boxes of factory ammunition (i dont know which load -- but i had one of these rifles recently and i remember factory ammo was pricey) This rifle is magna ported,...

Oh boy ! The postman brought me close to 200 pieces of Norma manufactured .300 Weatherby today and a die set! I know that doesnt sound like a lot, but at the range, the big Magnum only gets fired maybe 10 times a session at most -- so this is a lifetime supply. Really looking forward to putting toge...

Re: .45 LC shell holder ?
thanks everyone. These things are 4 and 5 dollar items, but so is everything else (primer pocket brushes, decapping pins, and on and on and on) - you kinda get hit for a 5 here, a 10 there, a 20 somewhere else, until your wallet is empty -- so if RCBS will replace this one, i will have a spare. Middle rifle is a Rem 700 -- 300 bucks or so at Wal Mart ---- gunsmith cut the barrel to 18" for easier handling, .243 caliber. Was going to convert it to a fwd scope mount scout type rifle, but i dont like the low magnification and prefer to keep at least a 6 power scope, so it is what it is, ...

I have already replied once in this thread, but i figured i'd add some pics --- my Dad's .30-.30 (i inherited after his passing) is my fave by default, even if it has the dreaded receiver safety - oh well. Too many to list, For now i'll list the Beretta .45 LC single action with 3.5 bbl and birds head grips (i like the case colors better than the Italian guns and i like the wide smooth trigger better than the traditional SAA type trigger) Followed closely by one of Roy Weatherby's rifles in 300 Wby ma...

I'll throw another one in for Ruger, easy pick -- great variety. Although i could probably live the rest of my days with a Winchester Model 50 Auto shotgun, a model 94 30-30 and a 9422 -- it would not be as much fun. The only MArlin scattergun choices are those weird bolt action jobs they made decad...

your Ruger 22/45 was designed with a grip profile that roughly mimics a 1911's grip profile --- if that one is comfortable in the hand -- the 1911 should be too. Kimber has a nice catalog of 1911 stuff in prices from mild to wild Or you could skip all the auto stuff and get the S&W Performance C...

I will use the ,30 cal designation as my victim, but the same applies to 7mm and 338 as well. What does a .30-378 WBY or a .300 RUM (or any number of "hot as Bo Derek" .300 mags like the Lazzeroni and Dakota cartridges) do that can't be done with a .300 WBY Mag or even a .300 Norma or H&am...
