I use the Game Reaper one piece mounts on all my Brownings and they do not extend over the receiver.

I have found that the tall (height) mount works best, as the medium will not provide clearance for the bell on some scopes.

They are my favorites. The main difference between the steel and alloy models is the newer ones (alloy) bolt locks up inside the barrel. There is a little weight difference. Magazines are expensive, and some of the older ones are getting hard to find.

I use a good non metal cleaning rod, a jag and liquid Wipe Out. No need for a brush or anything else and no mess. Once I tried the Wipe Out, I don't use anything else. No need to oil behind it either. There is a foam version of the Wipe Out, but I prefer the liquid.

I have two BLR takedowns and I have no zero problems after taking them apart and putting them back together. The td feature does make cleaning easier, but other than that - I can live w/o it.

In addition to the information you have already received, here is a little more. Triple seven builds a much higher pressure as compared to the same volume of black powder. Hogdon states it is not for use in regular muzzle loaders (in-line only), so you may have a problem there.

For your intended purpose, I don't think a goat would be ideal. You would have to provide shade and shelter, which would mean a lot of moving and constant attention.
