Jim, you are probably traveling today and will be busy for a week, but Mic and Friends used Longshot powder (usually for shotguns) in a low speed 454 Casull load with Mic's custom 400 grain bullet to astonishing chronograph results. Some of the lowest SD'S and ES's I have ever seen! -Tutt

Scott, its really, really hard for me to remove myself from the "maximum velocity" group of thinking. Just my mind does not currently work that way. I tend to think think that Alliant Power Pistol might yield superior results and burn cleaner, but while I have some, have not tried it yet. Doc, for short range, and hunting, they will do fine. And the penetration will be outstanding. But for long range use, the WFNGC simply doesn't work from what I know.

Yikes indeed. Wonder was that just a massive over load or a 9mm chambered in the wrong firearm. It was an over-pressure load. The case bulged where it is unsupported in the chamber. If it was in a larger chamber it would not have fired as it would have slipped too far in for the firing pin to reach...

Rim, as far as I know, 300 MP continues to defy the Quick Load algorithm. I believe it uses a "double deterrent" formulation, so its results cannot be predicted.
