I showed up at our local range one time with a pencil barrel Model 10 and coffee can of reloads. The RO spotted it and ambled over. Kind of making me want to go shoot my Single Six Special! I have a bunch of 250 cast bullets but no Unique. I do have Universal which is just a tad slower. Though no data for it with 250s. You can use the same data as Unique. Start with 6 gr and work up if you feel the need. You may decide to stop ...

I really like that front sight setup. The one place that Lipsey's & Ruger screwed up on those was using a too-short front sight. I removed the rear sight base springs from mine and screwed it down tight, but still had to file about .012" from the rear blade to zero it. The Flattop .45 got t...

I recall that the WWB 240 load has been discussed here as pretty speedy in carbines, but those numbers are suspicious. That's one of Skeeter's best, although he wrote on the .357 quite a bit. There's another where he laid out his idea of the perfect .357, which I believe strongly influenced the Lipsey's 5" half-lug GP100. I bet if Ol' Skeeter was still around he'd be tickled with the FA97.
