Another "got both" here. The Wrangler was on sale at a price too cheap to pass up but it's kind of become the dedicated rough conditions beater .22. Mine shoots well enough given the right ammo.

I've never managed to get one for myself but a friend used to have a transferable M2. The bore was pretty well shot out on it. He also had a Sten gun that was surprisingly accurate that would outshoot the M2 at practical (for those two) ranges. It was still a lot of fun.

I tried the Scovill load, but decided it was a waste of 2400 since 8 grains of Unique or Universal gets darn near that velocity with good accuracy.

No. Since max loads of 2400 and hot weather are a not-so-happy thing, I've gradually backed it down to 20 grains over the years. I've clocked it at an honest 1200 fps from a 4" 29 in shirt sleeve weather.

I have owned .357 revolvers that were MORE accurate shooting .38s -- and some that were less. So the answer to your question is that your gun will do what it'll do. This right here. I've got an old Security Six with...generous chambers. It does fine with .357, but simulates a shotgun with 38 Special.
