Re: Is Reloading Getting Too Expensive to Consider?
I asked this same question a year or so ago, when reloading components were unobtainable. They still kind of are or are stupid expensive. I finally just paid probably way too much to get some WLR primers. l I plan to only reload cartridges that are obsolete or effectively obsolete. Unfortunately, I ...

how come loaded ammo - which contains live primers, and powder, and a bullet - can be left sitting on your porch, but just primers by themselves, with no powder or bullet, require someone to sign for delivery. major pain, and not immediately logical to me.

Just because it's inexpensive, doesn't mean that it's junk necessarily. I have a Klein folding knife (model 44001) that is a very good knife and is (or was) made in Japan. the stainless steel blade (Aus 8 ) is the equivalent of 440C which is a good steel - which is what used to be used on the older ...

Since I've been thinking about the model 71 rifle and 348 cartridge again lately, I've read some articles and watched some videos, and one thing I've heard a few times now is how the .348 diameter is an odd caliber size and that possibly Winchester may have been more likely to choose another odd/ori...

Seems to me that when you are dealing with that much slow burning powder, 3 grains isn't as much of a difference. maybe I'm wrong. also, what would you compare the kick to? I have everything needed to start loading for the 348 myself except for primers. I'm wondering what kind of punishment awaits me.

Nope, not presently. You can check ammoseek once a month or so and if you want to pay $5+ per round you could check GunBroker. Hornady must have done a run of them at some point within the past year because I picked up one box I don't remember how many months ago for I think $65-75 which is for sure...

I had an old savage/stevens break action 12 ga that had a 30" barrel and had some damage to the choke/bore. What I did was measure a bunch of times and mark all the way around the barrel and then wrapped tape around the barrel and then used that tape as a guide for my hacksaw and cut the barrel...

There are charts that will tell you the choke diameter for each caliber. You can measure your bores and determine what choke you have. I bought a single shot 16ga stevens several years ago. measured the bore and determined it had a full choke. I took it to a gunsmith with a lathe and for very little...
