Around 1977 I was working with a older Gentleman and mention how I was going to buy a 99 Savage in 308 before the next deer season. I then offered me a BLR he had bought years before and never shot for exactly what he paid for it. He said when he bought it he had bought two one in 243 and the .308 a...

I was just thinking about this yesterday! I was shooting a 44 Bisley Vaquero and thinking I can't see the sights at all, and wishing I had never sold my 4 5/8 45 Blackhawk.
I can't replace it for the 135.00 I paid for the Blackhawk new either.

I gave my 32 Special to one of my sons, It was a fantastic cast bullet shooter and I really missed it, I ordered a Lee 170 FP mold and if this new rifle shows promise I will find a Lyman 311041.
I also bought a Williams 5d in case the opens aren't workable for me.

Well, I had a moment of weakness today and saw this 30-30 used but not abused on the rack. I looked at the price and it was 700.00 I thought I sold my first 30-30 for 80 bucks around 1975 and it wasn't a pre 64 so I guess the price was fair in my mind so I bought it. That's all I shot in the 1970's. I always thought they would perform like a Nosler Partition where the front would expand and blow off. Then the back end would punch through.
Never found one to prove my theory. They fed great in my 1894 Marlin too!
