Re: Thoughts on Integrity
Paul, when I think about you and Jim, giving lives as missionaries, I am humbled, just as I am even as a Protestant when I encounter Catholic priests, monks, and nuns. I so appreciate the scope of the sacrifice, which I fall so far short of and admit I am even jealous of. Doctrinal differences don't...

Re: Thoughts on Integrity
I'm one who often falls short. I have a lot of regrets. But my hope and belief is the Father sees men and women trying to be better than what they realize they were as something honorable, even if it doesn't gain them admission to exclusive societies. If that fails to qualify as some kind of honor a...

Appreciate all the contributors to this thread. It's wonderful thinking about carrying single-action revolvers, especially with the original Colt grip shape. Nice job Will!
By the way, that old saying is really old -- credited to Plato in 325 BC when he wrote "our need will be the real creator" and first translated into English in 1519 as the phrase we know today.

That's funny. When I moved from Ashland, Oregon, to Alamogordo, NM, via Nevada and Arizona nine years ago, it seemed to me the roads immediately got much worse crossing into Arizona, with some potholes up around Flagstaff that I was afraid would eat the Penske's tires whole. Crossing into New Mexico...

Re: Speaking of small bores for medium and larger game
Some very experienced hunters from the early 20th Century thought very highly of the .22 Savage High Power with its 70-grain bullet at 2780 for use on tigers and other beasts. Today's bullet offerings in .223-224 caliber are vastly better, from the Barnes copper solids to the 80- and 90-grain heavie...

Jay, I believe there is still life in the organization. I don't know the path toward restoration, but wish the BSA the best. I wonder how Baden-Powell, Ernest Thompson Seton and Dan Beard would approach the problem now. Dad got his Eagle in 1941. I got mine, on the right, in 1971. https://i.postimg....
