Yessir. A lot of folks have no idea that Festus -- Ken Curtis -- had a wonderful voice. There's a scene in my favorite John Wayne movie, "The Searchers," where he gets to show his stuff.

I have had a couple of the Ubertis over the years and still long for a .45-75.

Re: I was in Fredricksburg yesterday and stopped in to see the new Cimarron guns
Cimarron imports from Uberti and Chiappa, and probably others. The Winchester Model 1887 lever-action shotguns come from China, but they hold the manufacturer to a much higher standard than those imported 20 years ago . I believe they insist on a a higher level of finish and QC than some of the other...

Coyote nose, my only experience with .38 ACP was running some through that Star, which could handle .38 ACP, 9mm Largo/Bergman-Bayard and 9mm Steyr.I don't remember it being unusually loud, but then I was also fooling with one of the surplus Czech CZ-52s in 7.62 Tokarev. Now that round is LOUD.

Paul, that "annoying crack" of the .357 is what drove me away from the chambering. Although a big N-frame Model 28 was my first centerfire pistol, I quickly moved on to the .44 Magnum in a Super Blackhawk. When my late father-in-law gave me his Model 19 with 2 1/2-inch barrel, I ran a few ...

Jason, I have been reading about that very Tisas 1911 with the two barrels. When I looked up .38 Super ammo on Ammoseek.com this morning, there was all kinds of it and pretty reasonably priced, too -- lots of choice well under 50 cents a round.

Anyone here mess with a .38 Super?
It's a cartridge I have never even fired, much less owned a 1911 chambered for it. But it is a classic with some horsepower. Closest I have come would be a couple of the old Star Model Bs in 9mm Largo, which has considerably less starch than the Super. There was something in years past -- possibly h...

That's very useful expansion over 36 grains of Swiss FFg.
The late Mike Venturino and others have mentioned the thinner case neck on the .44 WCF vs the .44 Magnum as being more delicate. I have not yet loaded enough of the former to have any issues with the brass, but have used mostly Starline.
