Pitchy, my ex-wife's mother was a French hornist and also played her two alpenhorns regularly. Really nice instrument. If you can find a mouthpiece from a trumpet, trombone, baritone or bugle, you'll save yourself some work.

After watching a pair of coyotes joyfully catch and eat mouse after mouse in a harvested wheat field, I decided they do have a place in the world. Sometimes I shoot, sometimes I don't. I figure God has his reasons, and they don't always seem to perfectly coincide with human priorities.

Les, that is some very fine shooting. Folks I have talked to seem pleased with the LR bullet in .30-30 and .35 Remington. I have heard of complaints about the 325 lacking penetration on elk in the .45-70, but have not heard first-hand details. Wish they made a gummy tip for .25-35 and .25 Remington ...

Steve: It is a bit of a can of worms. I sure wouldn't try to carry in Kalifornia unless I had a good legal team lined up pro bono. I also respect the fact that Utah's permit requires much more training as well as live fire than Oregon's, which simply requires attending a three-hour class.

Perry: Sorry to hear of your tribulations. I just don't think it is right for a company to distribute products without carefully testing them, especially when we're talking firearms. Uberti usually does a little better than most, but they have had problems with their Winchester 1876 lever guns.
