Just bought a 5" S&W 629 Classic that is perfection, IMHO. Have had revolvers up to 7.5", such as an early model RSBH, another 629 that had a 6.5" tube and was very accurate. But my favorites are the 4" Mountain Guns, great shooters and very handy. SA, I have to go with 4-5/8...

After the 2 weeks since my wife passed on, what I feel is great relief that her sufferings over 8 years, and especially over the last 3+ years, are over... When I begin to feel loneliness or self-pity, that relief that her sufferings are over sweeps over me and I have great peace, what a blessing! T...

OT: Update on my wife...

With much help from all your prayers, my good wife passed from this earth quickly, painlessly, and peacefully @ 12:53pm December 27th, 2007 in our home family room with my son and myself at her side. A Hospice nurse was in attendance as a legal witness. The memorial service and graveside went very s...

The 44 Special is the "politician" of big bores...thinks it's a ".44", when it is really a .429, or maybe a .430! I'll stick with the honest straightforward .45 Colt, it's advertised as a ".45" and it is! That and more at .451 or .452. Besides, it has a long. long histo...

My fellow levergunners, My wife's time is nearly at hand. She is very weak and comes in and out of being right-minded. Your many prayers in her behalf have brought us all great peace. We have our faith that our Father in Heaven will take her in his own time to fulfill His purposes in her life. This ...

...with cancer. Medical folks are saying days, maybe weeks, due to heavy blood loss. Haven't felt the need til now to draw upon the strength & support here on this great forum.

Request your prayers, specifically for her to pass peacefully, if you are prone to such. Thanks!

86er, I can see your point, but I've taken a Ruger M77 300WSM to Africa twice and have always had a round chambered with the 3 thing all the way back on true safe just before firing. The trick is to grip it with a lot of thumb and index finger and slowly move it all the way forward with your eyes on...

I use the .45 snakes exclusively as as back-and-forth scrubbers in my 45-70 guide gun and 45 Colt SAA's. Spray with solvent, pull through to the loop and then back through the other way, repeat several times or until clean. Also have them in .17 (.17 HMR), .22 (handguns/rifles), .30 (300WSM) & 1...

Thanks for the info with the buff for the PP & JHP bullets. I use the Nosler 300 PP as my go-to bullet for big game out of my custom Marlin 1895GS. My handloads with RL-7 get about 2,150-2,200fps MV and penetrate well at about 24" with good expansion. In my opnion, this bullet is the perefe...
