Rangerider, Here is an easy fix that I have done before. Carefully set one of the gripps where you want it to be and tape it in place. Mark the inside of contour of the frame on the grip. I believe it to be a preseritive to the final blueing process on brownings. I had the same thing happen, and it seemed to stop after two or three wipedowns. As long as you use a good quaility oil and a soft cloth you shouldn't be able to hurt the blueing.
