Re: 1894 "Marlin Jam"

I have not had a problem with mine. I think this is blown out of proportion. I hear the Yugo SKS is also a problem but most of the problem stems from lack of cleaning. I never had a problem with the SKS either. So what I'm saying is, take care of it and use it properly and you should be ok.

I really like that movie. The scene where they are at the Spansh Mission was filmed at Cypress Gardens in SC a few mile from the house. I've had two cases of sever PI. Since then the best remedy or should I say relief is to treat the affected area with hot water, as hot as you can take without burning your self. The 94's are great from either manufacturer. I haven't heard of any safety issues except the earlier models don't have the cross bolt safeties. Standard iron sights are all that are needed. The ballistics range of a 44 mag is about 100-125 yards maybe 150. Where you are at I don't think you'll get m...

My model 44 Mosin Nagant would be the rifle hands down. I purchased the rifle 2-3 yrs ago for $70 out the door. Its a great shooter and pretty much shoot to point of aim with iron sights out to 200 yards. The only draw back is trying to mount a scope. My M44 would diffentely do the job. Use a 180g ...
