Re: Navy Arms buffalo hunter
That was my first muzzleloader back in the mid part of the last century. I shot mostly round balls but, had a mold for Lyman's "improved minie" which backed up a good bit more than balls. Traded it back in '76 for a CVA Harper's Ferry which, while fine looking on the outside was junk on th...

Using the RCBS 30-180FNGC (191 grains), I have found H-414 powder to produce the best accuracy in 3 Marlins and one Winchester M94. Out of a 24" barrel 336 A the velocity is 1970, while in a 20" 336SC it dropped to 1953. It does leave some powder residue in the barrel but, doesn't seem to ...

A neighbor friend had a 1947 Chevy that we used to cruise around in in the early 1960's and IIRC gas was $.28/gal. but, that didn't bother us because we were working in the hay fields for $4.00 a day!

You will need a #36-MS for rifles produced from 1898 to 1924. 36MS-24 is for rifles produced from 1924 to 1950 and 36MS-50 fits rifles from 1950 to end of production in mid '70's.
