+1 on what Rusty said. I use the tungston carbide core out of 30 calibre AP bullets which are easier to find than the 50 cal. version.

Also, correct that a drill press will greatly improve your probability of success. Good luck.

These are very easy actions on which to do trigger jobs. Lighter return spring, polishing of sear surfaces while maintaining angles and a short piece of rod to limit trigger overtravel. Have you considered a do it yourself project?

I believe yours shoots better than mine. I tried a variety of ammo (high and standard velocity) and the best I can do is just under 1.5 inches, 5 shots at 50 yards. However, I have not tried subsonic, hyper velocity or target rounds. I did try using an Accurizer - no success. That is with a Williams...

My Rossi 45 Colt has a 24 inch barrel. I picked that length mainly because I like the look of the longer barrel rifle. There will not be a significant difference in velocity between the barrel lengths in the 44 Mag chambering. Go for what looks "right" to you.

I do much better with aperture sights. My preference is a Marbles tang sight.

Governance at the consent of the governed, a fundamental concept of our founding fathers, died at Appomattox. Before April 1865, we were citizens of our State and country; after, we are but subjects of the federal empire.
