Most of my rifles wear beads, I prefer the small 1/16 style brass or ivory. My .357 wears a post and it too works well but I like it thin. I sight in my rifles to hit at the top of the bead at whatever range I'm using, usually 50yds with .22s and 100yds with centerfires. I also don't like to cover m...

I remember one time when I had a feller doing some dozer work for me. We got to talking about guns and he pulled a little .25 out of his pocket and shot a old fence post. When we checked it out, the bullet hadn't even penetrated its full length into the post. I went to the truck and hauled out the ....

OK, Ok, I had never heard of a Winchester 74. But since I saw my first one at a pawn shop Wednesday, I've seen three posts about them. Thats got to be a sign. Spiritmaker, I can't help with your problem, but I would suspect a worn or broken ejector. Did you clean it well? Sometimes in these older .2...

Thanks for the replys Gentlemen, I've had a few days to think about it. Sixgun, you pose some good questions, answers to which I need to find out. First, I feel the asking price a bit to high, I was thinking about 1100 or maybe $1150ea. I know about the fixed bushing, but doubt I'd ever wear one out...

I bought my .44mag Marlin from a pawn shop for 200bucks. I could see it was well used and a little abused but other than that know nothing of its history. It started jamming on me within the first 50 rounds. Lever would lock up in the full open position and would require dissassembly for repair. A c...

OT-Colt SAA Advice
I've said this before, I'm a Colt man on a Ruger budget. Having said that, I have always wanted to own a real Colt SAA. I was at a gun show this weekend and run into a friend of mine that is a FFL and is big into cowboy shooting. He was telling me he had just received a phone call from a feller that...

Well, I'll start with my 62# longbow loaded with 600 grain Douglas Fir Arrows tipped with Black Diamond Delta 2Blades. Oh, you probably are asking about guns. Illinois won't let me hunt deer with any rifle other than a muzzleloader, so I'll use my .54cal TC Renegade fitted with a Green Mountain roun...

Whats RC stand for?
Seen a Marlin 336 in a pawn shop today. Nothing fancy or special, serial No. dates it to 1965. It had a RC suffux after the model No. on the barrel. Ive seen W, C etc. but not RC. Rifle looked to be in pretty good shape, just needs a little loving care. Priced at $250. Doubt they would come down any...

OT- TC Renegade Replacement Barrel
Spent some time on the TC site this morning looking for a replacement barrel for my old .54cal Renegade. Maybe I missed it, but I could not find where TC offered them any more. What I would like is a round ball barrel with a 1 in 66 twist. I could see where they made them at one time. Anyone know we...
