Re: OT - I shot an M1A today !
The M1A and M14 have the finest sights on any rifle. Once you learn them and the use of a 1907 sling, you are a rifleman. If I was emperor, the M1A rear sight would be on every rifle sold and you would have to apply to the DCM for a scope. I love my M1A super match, well into the third barrel shooti...

Re: Winchester 1892 Takedown, 20" barrel, 45LC (Modern) Comments
Hi Malmute!! The trigger pull on my rifle is pretty good as it is. I have the parts to change it over and rid myself of the little tiny springs and widgits and return it to a simple reliable system that works very well and has since 1892(duh). A little work on the carrier will buy a bit longer cartr...

Re: Winchester 1892 Takedown, 20" barrel, 45LC (Modern) Comments
All I did to mine was cut back the idiotic leg on the idiotic rebound dingus and have never had misfire or light strike in thousands of rounds. I would just love to meet the jackass attorney who decided we had to have this stuff. My 1895 405 has never had misfire or light strike. My 94 7/30 has had ...

I have one of the 24" rifles since the 90's or whenever they came out. It is accurate, loaded with the RCBS 300 grain semiwadcutter gas check bullet ot 1550 fps, hard hitting. It is my winter packing rifle as it holds 13 rounds. We snow shoe quite a bit and run into bull bison and wolves. I put...

Re: O/T WINCHESTER 458 MAGNUM CAST BULLETS
Make sure the bullets are at least .460 diameter. You must fill up the throat on a factory 458 chamber or accuracy will be poor. You are better off cutting off a half inch of barrel and rethreading and recutting the retarded factory chamber with a non saami reamer instead of having a funnel throat t...

They sure will come in to deer call, and yes they smarten up quick. Got to learn how to howl them in like coyotes.

Re: 416/348 imp
the 35/348 imp i have is about the same capacity as the 338 win magninny as is my 450ak. i will shoot the 350 grain rcbs gas check and my 410 grain gas check(maybe if it fits) and be happy. kind of a dilemma which rifle to take some days, although the 450 seems to go the most. this 416 is lighter......

I just bought a browning 71 carbine converted to 416/348 imp. anybody fool with this?? seems like it does a little more than my 405 1895 in a handier rifle.
