Re: Longer, heavier bullets in 50-110/50 Express?
Howdy, ON the 50-110 maximum cartridge length is 2.8", with LFN or WFN bullets it is best to go a little shorter 2.75", for feeding ease. On the molds that I ordered from Veral Smith I told him the max length that I wanted and he put the crimp groove appropriately. The heavier the bullet t...

Re: How hard should cast bullets be for hunting deer or elk?
Howdy, Another chef into the kitchen. Then again there is the choice of taking water quenched WW, I get a BHN of around 20, and putting them in water to aneal the nose, thereby giving a soft nosed, BHN 12, hard shanked lead bullet for those who want a large diam. lead bullet to expand a little. Howdy,
I shoot a 17 HMR at groung squirrels and any time I can get it for less than $10.00 for a box of fifty I try to get a case(2000), if I can afford it. Setting on around 8000 rnds, and it gives me a " you done good feeling"
when I see it in the stores for $17+.

Howdy, For me part of the fun of reloading is to try things that are safe and unusual. Finding a safe load that the bullets only sticks in the plywood half way and can be pulled out with a set of pliers, stuff like that. If someone want to have fun loading up a small light bullet in a 45-70, I can't...

Howdy, I have done it this way. It is not so much a color change as it is like the tips get real shiny like mercury. Again they loose the gray lead color and get real shiny. Hope that helps, the method works great for me. A lot easier that pouring soft noses and inserting them into the mold to pour ...

Howdy, Actually if you check the ballistic charts you will find that at the velocity the .204 shoots a 40 grainer close to 4000fps, it bucks the wind better than a 55gr out a 223 and is on par with a 22-250 with a 55gr. Leather Lace on recoil pad
Hey Guys,
Dug a little in the stickies and didn't see anything on a leather lace on recoil pad. Doesn't mean that it's not there
. Anyway, can someone point me in the right direction. I thought that there was someone here that makes some nice ones for my 86 SRC.
Thanks in advance
