+1 on the super glue. Did a repair 15 years ago and it still holding. I spread the crack as much as I felt comfortable with and applied the glue. As stated before, it is thin enough to wick into areas that would be difficult to force glue into.
Good luck!

Re: HELP WITH 50-110 FEEDING
Howdy, I have a Browning 71 from Turnbull in 50-110. The max cartridge length in a 71 or 86 is 2.8". However the size of the melplate, if large or wide, will impede feeding at that length. I am shooting cast bullets from a Veral Smith mold and have to shorten the OAL to 2.75" to get reliab...

Howdy, Since my last post on this topic I have had the opportunity to shoot a lever shot gun in 12 gage. It was broke in and not that bad! Howdy, While I like IMR and have a good supply of it! I am starting to like the Hodgdon extreme powders for their resistance in performance fluctuations due to temperature changes. Their not perfect but seem to get effected less than IMR for the same situation. Be hard pressed to choose between H489...

Howdy, I saw the movie about the same time I discussed it with a friend who had just read the book. A lot of things were explained in the book that weren't in the movie. My 1886 is a Browning. I have been told that the max cartridge length you can get an 86 to work with is 2.8". Whether it be an original or a Miroku. You cannot go by the max cartridge length given in reloading data. 86's that are for 45-90 have carriers that are for a cartridge of that length, ...

Howdy,
2.8" listed max length. I find that the shape and size of the flat point makes a difference in how trouble free the cartridge feeds.
I have a 50-110, "86" and with wide flatnosed bullets I find going a few hundredths less, to 2.75", helps function.

Thanks for the help. Will a schematic for a 336 be the same as for a 30? Are parts interchangeable? Is the model 30 considered entry level because of the birch, rather than walnut stock?

One of the fun things about reloading is trying out safely different components. I did a lot of experimenting with various powders and found that part of the fun going to the range and seeing what you get . Don't have a 38-55 though, it is on the want list!!
