You can always put a butt cuff on to lengthen the pull!
Always thought that long term wildernessing might be better with a rifle and pistol combination that shot the same round. Just MHO.

Got one in 1968 when I was 17. Gave my dad $176.00 and got a python, 6" barrel with a box of 38's and a box of 357's out the door new :mrgreen: . Learned the value of reloading the same year!
First firearm I ever bought and still have it, special to me.

I have followed this " Because I can" issue. IMHO to expand one's abilities, one must try to "see if I can."
What a great feeling it is when you succeed and can say "Because I can" after the test. Better to have tried than to have never tried.

My brother in law has one, cool rifle! Careful about the surplus ammo. After the second hang fire, about a 10-15 second delay, we quit using that stuff. Works great with reloads or new ammo.

I have a Ruger Redhawk, 71/2" barrel. 240 gr. lead on top of 5 grains of Bullseye. Don't know the the velocity and never shot it in a carbine but it is very accurate and pleasant to shoot in the revolver.

I usually get some friends to go in together for an order. Best prices recently and before was from Powder Valley. One haz. mat fee covers up to fifty pounds. Doesn't take too many, if they are buying a 8 pounder or so, to get to 48 pounds.
