I would only take it when the animal is turned sideways because with a 540 grainer for example you can smash through the bone and cripple the animal and also take out the vitals. The animal cannot run into the brush and hide and in less then a min or so he dies. I...

I get out to the range at least once a month, I spend about 3 hrs each trip with at least two rifles each time. Does anybody know where I can find Info on the Garrett 350 grain Woodleigh ammo. I need to find out what the bullet drop is at 50 to 200 yards. I plan to zero at 100 yards. A Ballistics chart would be great.

I have always agreed that a shoulder shot would be best. Just have never seen a bear that close in real life facing me and it just seems his head would be the biggest picture in my front sights. I guess every situation is different. Hope I never have to fight a bear on his or her terms. :shock:

How do you take out the shoulder when a bear is running toward you. Seems to me if he has his head down ears back Etc.. on a dead run. A head shot would be the right thing if just a few yards away. Sounds like an old soldier. When I was in the army most soldiers no matter what color learned to count on each other for everything. You were forced to grow up in the service. I seen alot of black soldiers who voted rep while serving.

John Kerry had a 7 point lead on Bush in the polls last time around leading up to the election(I think) and Bush beat him pretty good. But If the Dem's win this time around,,,GOD HELP US. I have been using it for my 45-70 and with open sights i was knocking the snot out of those clay skeet at 100 yards. For the 45-70 it is some of the best priced ammo you can buy for a good hunting round. Pretty good stuff I think.
