Re: Winchester 1892 feedramp
Ok, So, you can ramp the chamber mouth some. But no more than the fillet inside the 45lc case. If you take anymore that that the brass won't be supported. However, the ramp may not be the problem. The original Winchester 92's were designed to work with bottleneck ammo in the 1.5" to 1.6" O...

Re: Reloading for 38 special and 44 special Rossi Carbine
The thing to keep in mind is these modern straight wall pistol caliber ammo leverguns (all, not just the 92’s) are a lot like semi-auto handguns. There’s just some ammo they aren’t going to work well with. All leveraction, pump action and semi-auto guns (long guns or handguns) are ammo length and bu...

I was told, Rossi makes and sell more 357's than all the other calibers combined. BUT, I've had a hankering to build another 41mag. I recently built this one for a customer. I think this might be the all-around cartridge for the 92. Sort of fills the gap like the 38-40. https://i.ibb.co/MgXSzPT/IMG-...

Hi Bill, Yep, that's kinda excessive. On the new guns 1/4" or so would be normal. Griff's for instance are much closer probably because he used them for CAS and they tend to wear in some with use. Same with the origins. I have one that was made in 1893, but it had feeding problems from the get-...

I have had the same problem with every handgun I own. I discovered I can mitigate the problem by grabbing as much trigger as I can reach. A light, tip of the finger pull pushes the group to the left. That's the easiest fix if it works. The most common issue with a righthanded shooter is low left. N...

Steve, I always welcome your responses and glad that Rossi still makes the '92 in 454 Casull. Hopefully the quality control and tolerances are better than my 2003 rifle. Because you have the main part of the firing pin it would be an easy fix to drill the end and silver solder in a new tip.
This would need to be done on a lathe.

I'm pretty sure that bushing in the bolt face was added. To me it appears to protrude slightly. That would be a slick way to correct headspace and it makes sense. Using a round ball you can get some wobble. Here's how I like to slug a bore. I like to use a slug of soft lead that is at least 1 1/2 times long than the bore dia that's being slugged.
