I've done that in the past with surplus rifles and steel wool /ribbon. I didn't want to do that with the 586, thanks for the suggestion and using copper. That should help.

Out of what I currently own, probably Grandpa's 1903 Sporter and my '86 in .33WCF for the thinner skinned game.

It does sound to me like the perfect reason to buy that Pre-'64 Model 70, .458 Winchester Magnum I've always wanted. :D

I have my grandfather's 94 in .38-55 that looks like it's in about the same condition. Bore is excellent but not much finish left on the outside.
Haven't had it out in a while. Probably need to correct that.

Put a ton of 148 gr wad cutter/ 3.2-3.5 gr. Bullseye rounds down range as a kid with my dad's and grandfather's .38s. Good stuff. Probably should get a picture of grandpa's Official Police.

The only thing original is the action. Whoever did the work did a beautiful job. I don't think I got much use, if any at all, after it was made.
