New ( to me) Rossi 92/ 480 Ruger/ McPherson custom

I bought Gary W ( 1886) custom 92 Rossi. Super nice guy and rifle was EXACTLY as described! He even let me make a couple payments on it. First impression was that it was "Slicker than Snot" :D Ran home and grabbed some ammo that I had made in anticipation of it's arrival. 27 grs. /W 296 &a...

My Grandfather had one for a long time. I believe it was a 35rem. I always thought it was an interesting old gun. I passed up a mint one at a show several years ago with a Lyman Alaskan scope in a side mount. Didn't have quite enough $$ that day. Still wish I could have brought that one home.

Don't forget Colt. To me they're worth the extra $$. I won't be parting with mine anytime soon. :D

Only other brand I have experience with is Bushmaster. Also an excellent choice.

I had a 94 in 32-40 several years ago. Sold it when the prices really jumped up and was building my last house. Wish I hadn't, was a super accurate rifle. Very mild recoil.

Don't even want to think what a nice take down is worth

Thanks Joe, I knew somebody would know. Never thought of checking the Marlin site. Haven't had many newer firearms until recently. Didn't even think of checking with the factory. Duh! Called Marlin and parts are on the way. That little stud was $12 Bought 2 sets, my 94P/44 mag seems to be stripping ...

Marlin ? What's the proper name for the part

Need to order a new mag tube plug screw for my 94S. What's the proper name for the piece dovetailed into the barrel that the scew threads into? That particular piece isn't on any of the exploded views I can find.

thanks

G,G,Granfather was in the Second Ohio Vol. Cav. It was that or 3rdIVC that my other G,G,Grandfather was the Third Indiana Vol. Cav. They were all farmers and horsemen back then. The cavalry was a natural choice. Though I have several other cousins and uncles that were in the artillery and infantry. ...

Wanted to see it Friday night but the Boss Lady wanted to see something else so we compromised on another movie. "Death Sentence" w/ Kevin Bacon. Pretty good but a brutal move.

Might have to sneak off to the movies one afternoon this week :D

My wife and I were in Paris in April of this year. I had heard all the bs about Parisians being rude and it's a dirty city, etc. The whole time we were there we only ran into one really rude young lady. My sister who speaks at least four different languages and is pretty fluent in French couldn't re...

My set up is similar to Hobie's. It's in th basement w/ a dehumidifier. My dad used to keep it all in the garage when i was growing up. Wasn't the best place for because of the changes from high heat and humidity in the summer to below zero temps in the winter. When they sold the big house he gave m...

I have a Leupold Scout scope w/ a XS mount on my 450 Marlin and love it. Just enough magnification to help count points on antlers. Also have the same scope on my SOCOM 16.
