I've had 2 of those IAC/Norinco '87's. First one was in a known range of serial numbers/year made to have FFF/FFE problems, and mine was no exception. I later found another one that was supposed to be the best run of them, 2009-ish? with a 'drop 2' carrier setup and it was still very finicky. Really...

What about the bolts? -Are the bolts the same, except for the hole in it for the safety? -on a pre and post safety, same caliber.

well, I don't actually have the 44 mag example, but I found one for sale, and if it is do-able, I want to buy it for the swap then sell the 'new' 44 mag.
