Re: Would you make this trade?

Four years ago I went thru 7 .44 Magnum rifles in an attempt to find one that shot accurately.None did. They were three Ruger carbines(one a lever action),a lever Winchester,an NEF Handi,a Ruger bolt action model 77 and a Rossi single shot.I never could get decent accuracy from a .44 magnum rifle. My ...

Re: S&W M&P SHIELD...new to me "BUG/EDC"...

I have been carrying a small Keltec .380 (pocket carry) for several years. Last week in the gun store I spotted a .40 Shield and after handling it I just had to have it. It rides really well and comfortable on my hip in a Galco holster which was originally for my Glock 17. I have not had the opportu...

Re: Mayday! Blue Tumbler Down!

This is co-incidental. My model 1292 tumbler gave up the ghost yesterday when a bearing in the motor disintegrated. I have sent Midway an email asking where I might acquire a replacement motor. A bit of research on my part indicated that the 1292 was in a recall some years back. At any rate I have a...

New to me Model 1894AE Winchester Trapper 30-30

Our kitchen remodeling three years ago made our contractor into a good friend. Several days ago he dropped by the house and left a gun case with my wife for me to look at the contents. When I got home I looked inside and found a new looking Winchester model 1894AE in 30-30 sporting a Nikon fixed 4 p...

The Remington 788 is a fine accurate rifle. I previously owned one in .308 and it was very very accurate. Supposedly they all have Douglas barrels. I have a Stevens model 325(predecessor to the Savage 340) and really like having a 30-30 bolt gun as I can load spritzer bullets in it. If the price of ...

When Ruger came out with the LCP I remarked at how much they looked like the Kel Tec P3AT.
I still think so. I carry a P3AT in a pocket holster every day.I really like the little .380's.
.380 after all is just a 9MM short.
