I have to say that I can identify with the OP.I like shooting pistols and I own a few but I will be the first to tell you that I am a really LOUSY pistol shooter.I am fairly good with a rifle but not with a handgun and I have been shooting pistols over 50 years.I still shoot them a lot but I realize...

My first Handi rifle was a 30-30 which I purchased for my grandson.Later I bought a superlight for my self in .243 followed by a regular Handi in .270 and several 45-70's including the Buffalo Classic. They are all good. When I down sized my collection most of them went away but not thru any fault of ...

I went to the range today to shoot the .44 magnum.Let me qualify this by saying I have a Ruger .44 magnum Super Redhawk and I love shooting that revolver.I'm actually pretty accurate with it at 100 yards.Having said that my results today with the Hawes were just totally unsatisfactory but it was no ...

Hawes "Western Marshall" .44 magnum
I did some "hoss trading" with an old friend and wound up with a Hawes Firearms Western Marshall model in .44 magnum. The revolver is a single action western style with a 6" barrel and is in extra good what I would class as 85% condition. It does not have a very pronounced turn line and...

When these rifles first came out I had the opportunity to handle one at a distributor show.I was not impressed with the handling qualities nor the balance of it in the least. It definitely is not a "pretty" gun.The fit and finish are acceptable. It is a rather heavy feeling piece. In my mind...

We've been shooting golf balls for years. The real trick is to hit right at the base of the golf ball and the impact will throw it into the air usually twenty feet or so. Clay pigeons laid on the berm at 100 yards or more are good targets and usually you will have a large chunk to shoot at after you ...

Sixgun,
Like you I shoot a rifle naturally left handed and a pistol mainly right handed.I am also left eye dominant so I "cross sight".It just seems natural to me.
My main carry is a Smith 638.I like to have the option of single action.

Just to clarify.I do own and shoot an AR.I like it.The only thing I have put on it is a scope.I don't consider it tactical by any means. It is a good shooter and very accurate.
Incidentally my front sight does not appear in my scope either.
