Re: A Christmas present to self-new to me Ruger .357 Blackha
Sixgun, Old? Old ? You want old? When you were 18 in 1972 I was 31. LOL. My first Ruger was a single six with both cylinders which I bought new in 1963 for $40. Thank you for all the comments. I know I am going to really like this revolver. I have owned a Super Redhawk for a few years. Ruger makes f...

A Christmas present to self-new to me Ruger .357 Blackhawk
I have been considering for awhile a single action pistol to complement my Winchester lever gun. I work part time a couple of days a week in a gun/pawn shop and that in itself is dangerous. Too much exposure to temptation. The upside is that the shop owner gives me pretty good employee pricing on it...

In 1947 Savage came out with the Stevens Model 325 which was manufactured until 1951 at which time the bolt handle was changed and the same gun marketed as the Savage 340.
I have a Stevens 325 in 30-30 and I shoot and hunt with it regularly.
These are great rifles.

After shooting the new .22 magnum Little Badger I decided that even though it shot extremely well with the iron sights it needed a red dot scope. I put a BSA on it and after a wee bit of adjusting and zeroing I got it where it shoots almost the same hole at 25 yards and about 3" at 100 yards. B...

I REALLY liked the look of Old Ironsights' rifle as modified. I now have it's mate but mine has the scout scope on it. I think my barrel is a bit shorter or looks to be. I had my gunsmith cut 8" off the original barrel and re-crown it. I am looking forward to getting out to the gun club to sigh...
