I carry a j frame also. They have good accuracy BUT>>>>>>they are not target guns. They are close quarters belly guns. If you can consistantly hit COM at 25 yds you're good. Encounters with a personal defense weapon like a j frame are usually much closer.

Just my $.02.

It all depends on you and how you use the gun. If you use it a lot and hunt the back country I would say sling it. If you use it as a saddle gun I say don't sling it. I have a 1948 vintage 71 standard grade that came to me used with no sling attachments. I hunt with it so I put uncle Mike's sling sw...

OTH,

If it is new in the box it should be easy to to sell. More and more folks are getting aquanted with the .405 Win again. I know when I go to the range it sure turns a lot of heads and starts some good conversations.

Shoot it, you may just like it.

Then call it an 1886 extra lite. If it isn't a .348 is isn't a Mod 71, it's an 86.

I agree with Gizzly Adams. If it is truly a 71 it should be a .348 WCF, If it's .45-70 should be an 86. They should have at least gotten that right. Just my $.02.
