Accurizer Tool
I've been away from Leverguns for quite awhile. On another forum, someone enquired about the Accurazer tool and if it was still available. I have a couple of the tools but bought them several years ago so couldn't answer the question. What is the latest status of the tools?

Re: Browning Model 71/New in Box/ $700...Good Deal???
That was an excellent deal. I paid just over $700 for mine about 10 years ago. By the time I added dies and mold, I had almost $800 invested. Still a deal. At the time I found some Buffalo Bore on closeout(I forget where). I also bought a mold from Mountain Molds. Mountain Molds had not gone to stri...

Re: Browning Model 71 in my future...
I only come over here to lurk occasionally but the thread title caught my eye. I've been reading old 71 articles in Handloader for the last couple of days. Several years ago a ran across a Browning 71 on Gunbroker. The price was reasonable but I usually walk away and think about it for an hour or tw...

Re: Photo- 0ne of the old time gun collectors.
Guns magazine had a big article on Mr. Davis and his collection back in the 50's. It was almost more than a small town high school boy could get his mind around. I was in OKC on business around 10-12 years ago and drove up to Tulsa to visit my brother. Since I had the whole day, I drove thru to Clar...

Re: 348 pressures
I have a Browning 71 that I bought because the price was right and I just like the looks of them. Because of that purchase, I bought 2 boxes of Buffalo Bore 348 loads (they were on closeout). They are labeled 250 gr. jacketed flat nose bonded core and indicate 2250 fps. Does anyone know what pressur...

Re: FYI - the dangers of brake cleaner. Pretty harsh.
R-12 will do the same when heated with acetylene or oxy-acetylene. My Dad worked with a guy that had it happen while changing a bunch of refrigerator compressors. R-22 also. It was used in central A/C systems. We had to watch that none was released in the factory. All brazing was done with natural ...

Re: Plum Color Gun Parts?
I have a S&W Model 28 that a well known custom smith converted to .44 Spec. and had reblued. The barrel came out with just a slight plum tinge to it. I kind of like it. It is more noticeable now than when I first got it back. I won't ever have to worry about someone not liking it. It goes to one...

Re: Gun Show Purchase & Question
I guess I stuck my ignorance out there for all to see. I have another 336 but have never tried to fire it with the safety on. I'm sure I've read somewhere how the safety worked but completely forgot it. I even referred to it as a "hammer block" safety. This rifle is going to get a lot more...

Gun Show Purchase & Question
Just got home from an area gunshow in Jackson, TN. Picked up a Marlin 336 at what I consider to be a good price ($255). Bore looks good. Threads for sling swivel in front barrel band are stripped. No big deal to me. I found after getting home that the hammer block safety has been disabled. Not sure ...

Re: Rock Island Auction Co.
My comments weren't meant to be taken as "picking on". Just that I can't afford collector type guns in the condition that those pictured seem to be. If I could afford guns like those I would have a walk in vault to hold them and only segregate them by "shooting" and "non-sho...

Rock Island Auction Co.
In the mail today was another Rock Island Auction Co. circular, although describing it as a circular does not do it justice. Many photos of hundreds of collector type firearms. My question is: Are all those guns pictured actually going to be in the auction that is announced by the circular. I'm just...

Acu'rzr Order
I ordered one of the new Acu'rzr's about 3 weeks ago. I'm not really getting impatient, but having lost 3 of the Group Buy molds from the Cast Boolets forum in shipping a year or so ago, I don't like to just sit and assume that things will arrive eventually. If Paco see's this post, a short reply th...

.375 Win Brass
I just saw that Midway has some .375 Win brass on closeout. I'm tempted to buy the 1000 pc lot and offer half to anyone who wants it. This will depend on how many I can get in a flat rate box. The 1000 qty is the best price by far. Five hundred pcs would work out to $136 plus shipping. I don't remem...

. Robert Abels the famous New York Arms antique Arms dealer and collector had (at one time) the best early Bowie collection in the country. There was a book published of his collection that is also well worth hunting down a copy. I've got several old Randall catalogs and there are 4 or 5 variations...

Bo Randall made such a knife patterned after Thorpe's research. I have not seen a Randall catalog in some years, but it was called the Thorpe Bowie. I once had one and it was indeed a hunk of steel. But, like I said...there are many different notions. For shure and for certain, it had a second shar...

Once on Ebay I was bidding on a 66 Lemans. I took it up to a more than reasonable price (likely much more than it was worth), only to lose it by $100 bucks at the last minute. I emailed them and asked to be considered if the buyer backed out. After about a week it showed up in auction again...with ...

Bore Guide
My lever collection has expanded to the point that I need to modify my cleaning procedures. Up to now I have been cleaning from the muzzle and being very careful to try to guide the rod so it doesn't contact the bore at the muzzle. Not always successful. My collection ranges from Win 94's, , replica...

I have bought guns on GunBroker, AuctionArms, GunsAmerica and from private individuals here on Leverguns.
