Re: Anyone hunt with a 24" barrel on a levergun...and why?
It's just a personal gun toting/handling/shooting preference thing. Actually I think it is more than that, I would add "Marketing". What sells is not necessarily what people want. Very few people would know any advantage of a long gun vs a carbine in accuracy, killing power, etc. You can'...

Re: Deer hunting photo, Lake Tahoe 1880
There is a cocked deluxe 1876, a '73 and another '76. The wood on the deluxe looks to be high grade, possibly 4X. WHEW! I'd like to know where that one ended up. I believe that it possibly belonged to Harry O. Comstock, of the famous mining family. He is the man on the horse in the immediate backgr...

Buffalo Sharps Gets Warmed Up Today
I did get the Montana Sharps over to Mike Venturino's for a quick range trial. My reloading dies for the other 40-90 Bottleneck I have are at Shiloh Rifle in Big Timber, where Kirk is trying to find a bullet and load for it. Since Mike and I had no dies, we did have some of my brass that was sized a...

You can mess around with the fragile old shotgun shells, or bite the bullet once and get these machined, solid brass shells that make the whole process easy. These shells have a machined primer pocket to accommodate 209 shotgun primers. I load them on a Mec 600 Jr. press and they are easy to load. I...

I buy all the collectible guns I can get my hands on. The first rule of thumb is to envision how hard it will be to sell it later, when you find something else better.
