I tried that 16.5 gr 2400 load today and I think it might be too much of a good thing. Every gun is is a story unto itself. I have been using that load for nearly 20 years, but that does not mean it's OK in other sixguns. I will admit I shot a whole lot more of the Unique loads than I do of the 240...

I can say from personal experience that when you fire a full house .357 from a 4 5/8" barrel in an adrenaline-filled experience you don't even hear it, consciously. I've had the same experience with high velocity rifles.

Jim......I tried your 2400 load and was rewarded with 6 on a playing card. That was at 20 yards off bags. 429421 cast of COWW from my 5.5" Bisley. Hope to try further out later this week. TomF That's great! I have a friend who has taken hogs with that load. It works well in what I've shot it in.

I am glad you came through it OK and were able to be help. The problem with those kinds of situations is you cannot tell which is the good guy and which is the bad guy. They both may be bad guys. It could be the good guy took off just to get clear of the scene or because he was scared or wounded.

In nearly 70 years of shooting I have heard about "powder position" and "detonations" etc. etc. I have never had an accuracy problem with light powder charges in large sixgun cartridges. I don't know about rifles. I do not believe you can carry what works in rifles to sixguns or ...
