RESURRECTION! I love bringing a beat-up gun back to life! Great job my friend! That's cool. Same with old cars, boats, or pretty much any tool; nice to see them restored. Back in 1966 I was in the US Army, stationed in Korea. My MOS was Aircraft Mechanic and we had quite a few airplanes on the flight line. One day I was exploring the top area of the hanger and found a brand new jug and piston for the Wright R985 that the Beaver's had. The top of the hanger was where ...

Since I am using tools that I purchased 30 to 40 years ago, cast my own bullets using reclaimed lead, a lot of my reloading for centerfire handguns costs about the same as buying .22 Long Rifle ammo.

When we lived in Mozambique we had a cyclone pass north of us about 100 miles away. We got 16" of rain in 2 days. It washed houses away, washed roads and bridges away, killed people, and cut all electricity with downed lines and poles. Bridges were washed out and supplies could not get through....

The Old Model Rugers are pretty much indestructible, but in 50-some years of shooting and dry-firing them, I did have one hammer spur break off during dry-firing. That's not too bad! When Ruger brought out the Single Six so many years ago they had it at the NRA Show .. mounted on a machine that cock...

Jim, is that a five-shooter? BTW, nice scrimshaw work! No, it's a standard 6 shot. John Linebaugh rechambered a Seville .44 Magnum cylinder to tight .45 Colt tolerances and fitted it to the Ruger when he rebarreled the gun for me. PS - my late wife did the scrimshaw. She did a lot of some years ago.

My old horseshoe rasp has milled a lot of gun parts! When I quit shoeing horses and sold my shoeing gear I kept the rasp. It's handy for a lot of things including laying alongside some aggressive person's ear. It's heavy enough it give good account of itself.
