We have Injuns in the woodpile here too, wvfarrier. Wounded Knee is an ugly page of American history a lot of people would like to forget and obviously, a subject some here would prefer we don't discuss. But a little introspection, on a personal or national basis, never hurt anybody. Gus sums it up ...

I read it years ago and still remember thinking how awful that massacre was. I did not know then how much was ended. I have never owned a Marlin of any kind LOL. I would be interested in owning one of these. Yeah, I know, I must be some sort of heretic! But I have always preferred Winchester designs, or even a rare one of 200 BLR. But one of these, I would like to own. Caliber to be determined. Might have to wait...

Hopefully not. Trump was not my first choice either, but he did a great job in office on almost everything. However, his mouth became a liability and if he ran again, we'd probably lose the election - and the country can't afford that. Now we have several thought leaders who learned how to punch li...

Thank you Flint. I really like the Sierra 200 grain Pro Hunter in this old Texan. I've used the Pro Hunter line in the American 30s (30-30, 308 and 30-06) with excellent accuracy and game performance. I have such faith in them I would use them to evaluate a finicky rifle. A dovetail sight cut at the front of the slide does simplify mounting night sights. If visible sights are all you need, there are several options that work with the GI front sight cut. https://www.thesixgunjournal.net/staking-a-1911-front-sight/ https://www.thesixgunjournal.net/wp-content/uploads/20...

I agree with you about inflation's effect on consumer goods, Jim. The whole centerfire lever action market, new and used, will be worth watching as they revive the 336 and 1894 series. In my opinion, one of the best things Ruger can for for the brand is make a top notch 1894 with a 1:20 twist in 44 ...

No- guns are getting more expensive. When a used, safety button Marlin that was $400 on Williams, 18 months ago is now $975, that's a price spike. It has nothing to do with a devalued dollar or inflation. The first rule of business is Charge What The Market Will Bear and right now, the market is bea...
