375's & 38-55's

I've got the itch for a levergun in one of the medium-large calibers and recent chatter here about them, has only increased it. If I acquire one it will be a Winchester. No offense to you Marlin folks, but I ain't interested in being 'converted'. I've shot a couple of .375's and the cartridge suits ...

Yes. I use the HS6/260 SWC load in the very bottom graph of this article, except I use MO Bullet's 255 grain SWC. I like it real well in my Old Vaquero and it's great in our Rossi Model 92 as well. I don't think a man can keep house without at least one 94 Winchester leaned in a corner, somewhere. "Perfect" would be a late-model 4" S&W Model 21 in .45 Colt, 'mooned' for .45 ACP and sans the keyhole. Purt-near perfect would be fixed-sight GP-100, in the same coon-fingeration, in 10mm/40 S&W. Drawing from available stock, I'd have to agree with Adirondakjack. http://i186....

I've had both the RRB's you mention at different times. The old .43 came with a beer sack full of old green ammo; got it in 1974. Believe the ammo had a 385 grain bullet or so and the rifle was accurate enough that we used it to shoot big icicles off the 'cliff' at the end of an old rock quarry wher...

Marc, my RCBS 30-30 dies are probably 30 years old. I had poor neck tension with them using .308 bullets and many years ago I yanked the expander plug out and polished down a few thousandths. Find another reloader with some H4895; see if he'll part with a little dab of it. While I never tried H322 I have tried a half dozen or so rifle powders.
